Attorneys Darrell Cochran Personal Injury Lawyer and Bridget Grotz of PCVA, have filed a lawsuit against Olympia massage clinic The Well on behalf of a Plaintiff who was sexually assaulted during a massage.
The complaint states that The Well hired massage therapist Ignacio Ramirez after he was terminated from a previous job at Hand & Stone in Lacey, Washington, for sexual misconduct involving a female client. The Well knew or should have known about this history when it decided to employ him.
While working at The Well, Ramirez sexually assaulted the Plaintiff during a massage while she was nude and alone in the treatment room. He also blocked her path to the door when she told him his behavior was inappropriate and ordered him to leave.
The lawsuit states that Ramirez targeted women for sexual assault and harassment, and that the Plaintiff was treated differently because she is a woman. It further states that The Well knew or should have known that patients were at high risk of sexual abuse, yet failed to take reasonable steps to protect them or to remove Ramirez from contact with clients.
