A class-action lawsuit has been filed in King County Superior Court by attorneys from Darrell Cochran Personal Injury Lawyer on behalf of women and girls who may have been secretly recorded inside restroom facilities at The Pokémon Company International’s Bellevue headquarters. The lawsuit addresses that former Pokémon executive Ben Tsai used hidden cameras to record employees, visitors, and members of the public over a period of several years.

PCVA attorney, Alex Dietz and co-counsel Ashton Dennis of Washington Law Center, filed the lawsuit following criminal charges against Tsai related to claims that he installed hidden recording devices and captured individuals without their knowledge. Those criminal proceedings remain ongoing, and the charges have not yet been proven in court.

Who May Be Included In The Proposed Class Action?

The proposed class action seeks to represent women and girls who used restroom facilities at The Pokémon headquarters in Bellevue between 2017 and July 25, 2026. Potential class members may include employees, visitors, contractors, vendors, and others who were present at the office during that time

Because the conduct may have occurred over several years, some individuals who were recorded may not be aware that their privacy was violated. The lawsuit seeks to better understand the scope of the conduct and help individuals who may have been affected have information about their potential rights.

What the Class Action Lawsuit Seeks to Address

A class action lawsuit allows individuals with similar legal claims to pursue those claims together when a large number of people may have been affected by the same conduct. In this case, the lawsuit seeks to address privacy violations affecting individuals who may have been recorded without their knowledge or consent.

Learning that a person may have been recorded in a private setting can be deeply distressing and may raise serious concerns about privacy, personal safety, and trust. Through the litigation, attorneys will seek to gather additional information about the recordings, understand the extent of the conduct, and hold responsible parties accountable if wrongdoing is proven. The lawsuit is still in its early stages, and the legal process is ongoing.

Questions About Workplace Oversight and Safety

Beyond identifying individuals who may have been affected, the lawsuit seeks to answer important questions about the circumstances surrounding the recordings. The case addresses that the conduct occurred inside a workplace environment where employees, visitors, and others had a reasonable expectation of privacy.

The lawsuit also raises questions about whether reasonable safeguards were in place to protect employees, visitors, and others who entered the workplace and whether any failures contributed to the privacy violations. As part of the litigation, attorneys will seek additional information about the circumstances surrounding the recordings and the steps taken to protect individuals in the workplace.

“Companies have a responsibility to protect the people who enter their workplaces,” attorney Alex Dietz said. “This lawsuit seeks answers, accountability, and justice for every person whose privacy was violated.”

As the case moves forward, attorneys will continue working to learn more about the recordings and connect with individuals who may have been affected. The litigation remains in its early stages, and additional information may emerge as the case proceeds.
