Opinion: Education system failings fuel foster care to prison pipeline

There are far too many reasons foster children often end up incarcerated, a disproportionate amount of them children of color.

So many of our institutions are failing. Our education system is one of them. I encourage you to read this thought provoking editorial from the The Seattle Times on the critical need to overhaul our state’s educational offerings for foster children.

Join us in urging lawmakers to step up and do what needs to be done to give these vulnerable young people a shot at the life so many of us have been afforded.
